I intended to do a solo ride this morning and then do a yoga class in Almonte, but my bike's mechanical state became a pain in the butt. The rear 'tubeless' tire now sporting a tube, refused to allow me to swap in a tube without rupturing it. The hub bearings are finished too...I can't put off maintenance any longer. Roxanne and I went to yoga, then I called Mike to borrow a rear wheel - instead he said I could take Alyson's
Nomad (a wicked kick ass bike!) Also, Mike thought he'd like to come along too. After messing with the rear air shock (which apparently had no air in it), we rolled off. The Nomad is much lighter than my bullit, and a little stiffer. Bottom bracket height must be shorter to because I was scraping pedals on rocks quite a bit. Mike's fitness level was pretty good (thanks to grecco and hockey I guess) and we maintained a good pace. It was such a warm day that the masses were on the trails, but once we got to the technical stuff there weren't too many people around.
