South March Highlands
Did a fitness ride for a couple of hours give or take 15 minutes. Started at Klondike. Slowly getting to know my way around in there - didn't get completely lost. Got a new helmet. Trails were dry which makes for a cleaner ride / better climbs.
light wind day
light wind day - even the kites were barely planing. max 12 knots. Northwest direction produced a lot of little rolling waves which made it appear a little windier than it was.
Mike & I practiced switch stance, back-winded stuff for a few hours in the afternoon.

Kanata Lakes
I'm embarrassed to say that today was my first trail ride of the year. Parked at Klondike / 2nd line and spent a couple of hours in the woods. Thought I'd do some trails I don't normally ride, since the new Terry Fox road bisects my old favorite trail now. I brought along my gps but it worked like crap and didn't track anything. Great ride overall - legs are not bad from spinning I guess. A rider on the trail tipped me off to where there are some great dirt jumps near centrum. I'm surprised I never heard of them before, but then again, I never went looking for them. I'll have to pay them a visit.

5.2...4.2....5.2...4.2...
Booked the afternoon off knowing a front was moving through. SW wind 50-70kph. Started out at Britannia sailing 5.2 with the 85L board until I started getting spanked - rigged up the 4.2....at times I considered going for the 3.5. Mike was there and ended up on his 4.3 but with the big board and crazy chop it was too much. The wind jumped between 20 and 40 knots so swapping sails went on all afternoon. Nice and hot, but as the front moved through the temperature started to drop a bit. Great session overall. The beach needs more supervision - starting to look like a ghetto with people drinking beer and pimp wannabe's (or maybe the real thing) crowding the parking lot...turning into gangsta beach.
