Britannia season opener
Jeez, late start to the spring sailing in Ottawa for me. Already into shorty weather. I thought about wearing shorts but the water's not quite up there yet. Hit the beach around 11:30 without a lot of expectations - south winds at Britannia are like a homeless guy's underwear - dirty and full of holes. Rigged a 6.5 and suited up and played in the gusts for a while. Oh yeah, the direction itself was bad enough, but it was moving around too. Eventually it was more west than south. Mike showed up and got up the nerve to head out on his 6.5. It was raining by then, and then things shut down. Sailors on the water that I ran into: Danny, Rod, Steve, and some anonymous dudes. I did have fun, and soaked up as much wind as I could. Skipped over to Mud lake to snap some bird pics, but didn't see too much. Might have to start a birding sessions blog?
